The New Horizons for Seniors Program is a federal grants program that supports projects led or inspired by seniors who make a difference in the lives of others and in their communities. The New Horizons for Seniors organization based at The Welland Legion has been awarded a grant of $20,650, under the Governments of Canada’s New Horizon for Seniors Program, for it’s Seniors Soar into Life 2 project. This funding will allow the organization to continue to offer events to increase the social participation of all seniors in Welland and the local Niagara region communities. Member of the New Horizons for Seniors  work diligently for all seniors expecting nothing in return except the satisfaction of making a difference. The New Horizons for Seniors organization create and open environment and a truly joyous experience to look forward for a chance to chat with each other and enjoy an opportunity to share in entertaining events. Our hope is that the experience our seniors encounter on each particular day of the week, carries through to the next time.  By participating in a communal experience, internal relationships can strengthen and grow.  The New Horizons for Seniors organization call The Royal Canadian Legion Br. 4 in Welland, Ontario, their home base. At The Welland Legion they encourage the exchange of ideas, opinions, experiences and knowledge, to get the most out of life. The New Horizons for Seniors are totally committed to work as a team with the Welland Legion members, friends and community participants and focus on enhancing social interaction with all.
